What is Social Good Network?

Social Good Network makes charitable giving simple, social and sustainable. Our online community raises money for nonprofits by shopping from our website, email links and mobile application. Members spread the word, and the goodness, giving in both new and traditional ways. It's free and easy.

How it works: Our retail partners reward us for purchases from our website, email links and mobile site. When you make an eligible purchase, you earn money to direct to your favorite causes. Shopping on Social Good Network doesn't cost you any more than purchasing items directly from the retailer, but the money earned makes a difference for the nonprofits you give to. Every quarter, we tally up the proceeds and send checks to the organizations that member shopping and donations support. Amazon purchases may not be individually tracked so proceeds from these purchases are directed to the Community Pot.

Social Good Network believes that the opportunity to give should be for everyone, and that even small amounts, when compounded, lead to donations of consequence.

Do I have to become a member to use Social Good Network?

Yes. You must be a member to earn and direct funds from your shopping on Social Good Network to your favorite nonprofit projects. Signing-up is free, quick, and easy. Click here to join.

How do I join Social Good Network?

Individuals: Click the “Join Us” button. Enter your name, email address, and create a password. Then you have the option to upload a profile picture and tell us a little more about yourself. When you're logged in as a member, you can access your account information from your dashboard, at the top of the page. This shows how much money you've earned to direct to projects, and keeps track of your favorite nonprofits and retailers.

What does it cost to become a member of Social Good Network?

Joining Social Good Network is absolutely free for individuals and nonprofits.

Does shopping at Social Good Network cost more?

No. Shopping through Social Good Network costs the same as when you shop directly with the online retailer. The only difference is that your eligible purchases earn funds that you can direct to your favorite nonprofit projects.

How do I generate funds for my favorite nonprofits using Social Good Network?

Start your online shopping from the Social Good Network website, email links or mobile site. Make sure you're logged in as a member. Then shop at any of our online retail partners. When you make an eligible purchase, we credit your Social Good Network account a percentage of your purchase within 1-3 days. If you return any or all of the items you purchased, your account will be adjusted accordingly. Purchases you make on Amazon.com will not display in your account. Amazon does not allow us to track individual transactions and these funds are distributed to the Community Pot. Social Good Network has also partnered with VigLink to capture purchases at retailers we are not affiliated with. If you leave the Social Good Network site and make a purchase at a retailer that VigLink is associated with, we may earn a commission. A percentage of these commissions will be directed to the Community Pot.

How do I give to a nonprofit project?

Explore nonprofit projects in Support Nonprofits. Select “Give for Good” from either the project snapshot or project page when you want to direct funds. This will display the amount you have available to give and enable you to enter a donation.

How much do I earn for eligible purchases?

The percentage varies according to the retailer but is generally 1-20% of an eligible purchase. Social Good Network retains a portion of this revenue (so we can keep the giving going!) and you get to direct the rest to your favorite nonprofit project(s).

When are funds distributed to nonprofits?

We distribute funds to our nonprofit partners quarterly based upon our members' directives. We make payments based upon when our retail partners pay us, which can take up to 90 days from the time of an eligible purchase.

Can I donate to more than one nonprofit project?

Members can direct their funds to any nonprofit project. There is no limitation on the number of project you can support.

How do I choose which nonprofit organizations I want to support?

You can explore nonprofit projects from our home page, or on the “Support Nonprofits” page. Click on any project snapshot to see an expanded description of the project. Click on “Learn More About This Organization” located next to the organization logo, to learn about the nonprofit.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Donations made with funds earned through shopping are not tax deductible. If you make a direct donation using Amazon Payments, your donation will be deductible to the extent the law allows.

What if I don't see my favorite charity listed?

We are adding new nonprofit projects regularly. But, if you don't see the nonprofit you're looking for, tell them about us!

How can I spread the word about Social Good Network to my friends?

You help us and we'll help you! Share the power of giving through Social Good Network by using our social media and email sharing tools. To tell people about Social Good Network, select “Share” from the top of any page. To tell people about a specific project, select “Share” from a project snapshot or project page. This lets you share on Facebook, Twitter, or via email. Help spread the word about your favorite nonprofit projects and about Social Good Network. The more users we have, the bigger the impact we can make!

Can I cash out my Social Good Network fund?

Sorry. The funds in your Social Good Network account, generated by eligible purchases, have no cash value, except as unrestricted gifts, and may not be specified for any particular purpose, other than for the nonprofit project you are supporting. Nor can they be claimed as assets. But, rest assured, that when you direct these funds they help nonprofits reach their fundraising goals.

If I return a product, will funds be deducted from my account?

Yes. If you return an item from an eligible purchase, the appropriate amount will be deducted from your account. If you have directed any, or all, of the funds to a nonprofit project, that amount will be deducted from their total funds raised.

Why don't my Amazon purchases show up in my Account?

Amazon doesn't allow us to track purchases by individual members. When you make an eligible purchase on Amazon, the resulting funds are directed to The Community Pot which we distribute to nonprofit projects.

I am having problems with my online order. Do I contact Social Good Network?

Sorry. You'll need to contact the retailer you made the purchase from. We'd help if we could, but we are not authorized to resolve any issues on behalf of retailers. Please contact the retailer's customer service directly if you experience and issue.

How do I update my personal information?

If you're a member, just sign in and select “Edit Profile” from the Social Good Network member dashboard. The dashboard may be accessed by clicking your profile picture (or the default avatar if you haven't uploaded one) in header on the right side of the website.

Is my information kept private?

We value our community and respect your privacy. Social Good Network does not sell your information without your express permission. We use the information we collect to make the site available to our users, to measure and improve the use of the site, and to provide you with customer support. We may share transaction information with the trusted third parties responsible for them, but do not store you credit card information. Nonprofits benefitting from your donations will be also be notified of your transactions, but we only share personal information if you opt to share it, or if you make a direct donation with a credit card. Which browsers work with Social Good Network?

Social Good Network's website is designed to work with Internet Explorer (IE) 8+, Safari, Firefox and Chrome. If you are using an older version of Internet Explorer, you may experience display and/or performance issues.
